Hyperliquid Validators
Right now (Oct 25, 15:54 UTC): 441.6M HYPE is staked across 35 validators, 27 of them active and 6 jailed. The 3 largest validators together hold more than a third of all stake, enough to halt consensus; the top five hold 52%. Delegators earn 2.17% a year on a stake-weighted average after commission; the best 7-day rate is infinitefield.xyz’s 2.23%.
How this is calculated: Stake, commission, uptime and predicted APR from Hyperliquid’s validatorSummaries endpoint; averages are stake-weighted over active validators that do not keep 100% commission. Maintained by LabelYX.

How HYPE staking works
Hyperliquid’s chain, HyperCore, is secured by validators running a proof-of-stake consensus. HYPE holders don’t need to run anything themselves: they delegate HYPE to a validator and share in the rewards it earns. Moving HYPE from your spot balance into your staking balance is instant. Delegating to a particular validator locks that delegation for 1 day, and moving HYPE back from staking to spot goes through a 7-day unstaking queue (at most five pending withdrawals per address).
Rewards accrue every minute, are paid out daily and are automatically re-delegated to the same validator, so they compound without any action from you. The base reward rate is set by the protocol and falls as more HYPE is staked: it is inversely proportional to the square root of total stake, the same model Ethereum uses. Hyperliquid’s documentation puts it at about 2.37% a year with 400M HYPE staked. The APR column above is what a delegator to each validator is predicted to receive after that validator’s commission.
Choosing a validator: what actually matters
- Uptime. A validator that misses blocks earns less, and one that is jailed by a quorum of other validators stops earning entirely until it is unjailed. Jailing is not slashing: your HYPE is not taken, but it sits idle. Anything below 99% weekly uptime is highlighted in the table.
- Commission. The cut a validator keeps from your rewards. Hyperliquid limits how it can change: a validator can only raise its commission if the new rate is 1% or lower, so a low-commission validator can’t quietly jump to 20%. A commission of 100% marks a private validator that isn’t taking public delegations, and those are excluded from the averages here.
- Decentralisation. A BFT chain halts if validators holding more than a third of stake stop signing. The “halt threshold” card counts how few validators that takes today. Delegating outside the largest few is the one decision a staker makes that improves the network’s resilience, at almost no cost in APR, since the rates above sit within a few basis points of each other.
- Self-delegation. Every active validator must self-delegate at least 10,000 HYPE, locked for a year, so each one has its own stake on the line.

Frequently asked
What is the current HYPE staking APR?
The stake-weighted average shown at the top of this page, recomputed on every visit from Hyperliquid validator data. It is net of each validator commission and moves as total stake changes, because the protocol reward rate is inversely proportional to the square root of total HYPE staked.
How long does it take to unstake HYPE?
Delegations to a validator are locked for 1 day. Moving HYPE from your staking balance back to your spot balance then goes through a 7-day unstaking queue, and each address can have at most five pending withdrawals.
Can I lose HYPE by staking with a bad validator?
Hyperliquid jails validators that misbehave or go offline, and a jailed validator earns no rewards for its delegators. Jailing is not slashing, so your delegated HYPE is not taken, but it earns nothing until you redelegate or the validator is unjailed.
Do staking rewards compound automatically?
Yes. Rewards accrue every minute, are distributed daily and are redelegated to the same validator automatically.
Why do the APRs of different validators barely differ?
Every validator earns the same protocol reward rate per HYPE staked, so the main difference between them is commission, plus any missed rewards from downtime. That makes uptime and decentralisation better reasons to choose one validator over another than a few basis points of APR.
