What a leaderboard rank does and does not mean
This ranks public Hyperliquid accounts by realised PnL over the selected window. That is a fact about the past, and a much weaker signal about the future than the ordering suggests. Two problems sit underneath every leaderboard ever published.
The first is survivorship. You are looking at the accounts that are still here. Traders who took the same risks and were wrong do not appear at the bottom of this list — they are not on it at all. A ranking built from winners will always make aggressive strategies look better than they were, because the failures were removed from the sample before you ever saw it.
The second is position size. Absolute PnL rewards whoever traded biggest, not whoever traded best. Two million dollars of profit on a twenty-million-dollar account is a 10% return; the same two million on a five-hundred-thousand-dollar account is a different trader entirely. That is why ROI sits beside PnL here, and why the two columns frequently disagree about who belongs at the top.
How to actually vet an account
A rank is a starting point, not a verdict. Click any address to open its full analytics, and look at four things this table cannot show you:
- Maximum drawdown. The worst peak-to-trough loss the account has taken. This is the number that tells you whether you could have held the position, and it is the one most people skip.
- The shape of the equity curve. Steady accumulation and one enormous lucky trade produce the same total. They are not the same trader, and the chart separates them immediately.
- Win rate against average win size. A 30% win rate is fine if the wins are large. A 90% win rate carrying one catastrophic loser is a strategy that has not met its bad day yet.
- How long the record runs. A month of results inside a single market regime is not evidence of an edge, however good the number looks.
Before you copy anyone
Copy trading inherits the leader’s risk tolerance, not only their entries, and you will feel their drawdown with your own money and none of their conviction. Most people exit precisely when the strategy is at its worst point, which converts a temporary drawdown into a permanent loss. The copy trading guide covers what to check first, and vaults are the version of this where the leader has their own capital at stake alongside yours.
Frequently asked
Why are these wallet addresses public?
Hyperliquid settles perpetual futures on-chain, so positions, trade history and realised PnL for any address are public information. That is what makes leaderboards and whale tracking possible at all, and it applies equally to your own address.
Should I rank by PnL or by ROI?
ROI, in most cases. Absolute PnL rewards whoever traded the largest size, not whoever traded best: the same dollar profit is an ordinary result on a large account and an exceptional one on a small account. Use PnL to see scale and ROI to see skill.
Does topping this leaderboard mean someone is a good trader?
Not by itself. The list only contains accounts that survived, so equally aggressive traders who lost are absent from the sample entirely. Check maximum drawdown, the shape of the equity curve and how long the track record runs before drawing a conclusion.
Can I look up a trader I find here?
Yes. Click any address to open its full analytics on LabelYX: PnL history, win rate, drawdown, funding paid and open positions. No account or wallet connection is required, and the view is read-only.
Is copy trading a leaderboard account a good idea?
It carries a risk most people underestimate: you take on the leader drawdown without the conviction that lets them hold through it, and exiting at the bottom turns a temporary loss into a permanent one. Review the drawdown history before the returns.
