Check the export is complete. Hyperliquid keeps only recent fills for active wallets (a very busy wallet may keep just a few hours of them), so an export read from the live API can miss older trades. Funding and transfers go back further. Exports are also capped at 20,000 fills per year, and when the site is busy an export can stop early, so if the file looks short, download it again a minute later. For a complete record, use Enable full history on the trades page and export again once it finishes.

What is in the file

  • All timestamps are UTC, and the year runs 1 January 00:00 to 31 December 23:59:59 UTC.
  • Perps: realised PnL per closing fill (Hyperliquid’s closedPnl), plus the trading fee of every fill. Maker rebates appear as fees received.
  • Funding: every hourly payment, received or paid, in USDC.
  • Spot: each fill as a trade of one token for another, with its fee.
  • Transfers: USDC deposits and withdrawals (Koinly and generic). Other ledger movements, such as sub-account and vault transfers, are in the generic file only.

This export is a record of on-chain activity, not tax advice. How perps PnL, funding and fees are taxed depends on where you live; check with your tax software’s guidance or an accountant. Choosing a tool? See the crypto tax software comparison.
